Rosemary Marrakech: A Living Story in the Medina

Rosemary Marrakech: A Living Story in the Medina

Rosemary is a five-room riad in Marrakech where art, craft, and hospitality come together in perfect harmony.

Rosemary Marrakesh

Marrakech is a city that breathes in colour and exhales stories. In the heart of its winding medina, the Rosemary Hotel stands as a quiet celebration of Moroccan artistry and heartfelt hospitality created by Belgian artist and designer Laurence Leenaert and her husband Ayoub Boualam.

Laurence, known globally for her lifestyle brand LRNCE, envisioned Rosemary as more than a hotel. It’s a living gallery, each space shaped by her artistic hand, from walls she painted herself to bespoke furniture, hand-painted tiles, and vintage finds sourced across Morocco and beyond. The name honours the former owner, Rose-Marie, while the rosemary herb weaves through the design, scenting courtyards and flavouring dishes.

A Purpose Rooted in Craft & Culture

Rosemary was born from Laurence and Ayoub’s desire to share Moroccan culture in an authentic, immersive way. They worked with artisans from all over the country: zellige tile makers from Fes, potters from Safi, and glassworkers from Meknes, to create a home that reflects both tradition and contemporary creativity. Every detail is deliberate: carved cedarwood doors, terrazzo floors, handblown glass, and warm brass lanterns casting soft evening light.

Moroccan culture

From the moment guests arrive, the air is filled with the scent of rosemary and orange blossom, mingling with the delicate clink of tea glasses. The welcome is an embrace, offered with the genuine warmth of a homecoming. Staff move with a grace like those who take pride in hosting, each gesture reflecting an authentic desire to share their world.

Hospitality That Feels Like Home

From the first sip of mint tea on arrival, guests are welcomed like family. The riad’s intimate scale makes it perfect for families, private gatherings, or special life moments. Spacious rooms and cosy shared spaces encourage connection, whether lingering in the sunlit courtyard or sharing stories over dinner.

Every detail is considered: low-slung seating perfect for lingering over mint tea, linen-draped beds that promise rest, and artwork curated to honour local craftsmanship. The aesthetic marries tradition with modern refinement, heritage textures balanced by contemporary lines, creating a timeless sense of place.

An Experience for the Senses

Mornings begin with the sound of the courtyard fountain and a breakfast that blends Moroccan tradition with a fresh, modern touch: warm buttery msemen with honey, seasonal fruits, and strong coffee. The kitchen is a star in itself, creating memorable, family-style feasts that celebrate seasonal produce and the vibrant flavours of the souks.

For those seeking relaxation, the Moroccan hammam offers steam, exfoliation, and beauty rituals to soothe both body and mind. Creative souls can join ceramic-painting workshops, guided by Laurence, using locally crafted pots and pigments inspired by Marrakech’s landscape, with each piece being a personal keepsake.

Rosemary Marrakesh

The Marrakech Rosemary Hotel is an experience brought together from moments of beauty, comfort, and care. Here, hosting is an art form, and each guest leaves carrying a piece of the story scented with rosemary.

A Stay to Remember

Rosemary is more than a stay… It’s a celebration of artistry, craftsmanship, and heartfelt hospitality. It’s a place where every surface tells a story, every meal is shared with warmth, and every guest leaves carrying a piece of Marrakech in their heart.
